Some of y’all may have seen this spider hanging above our beloved arcade. Understandably, a lot of you probably thought it was a fun quirky little surrealist piece. It’s definitely surreal but it’s a direct reference to a little-known science fiction novel called Perdido Street Station by China Miéville. The Weaver is an interdimensional spider, traveling through timelines and snipping away what they see fit in a chaotic pursuit of their own aesthetic design while speaking solely in freeform prose poetry.
Details You May Have Missed at Meow Wolf Santa Fe

Every year, the House continues to expand the already existing 70+ rooms with new rooms and new art. Have you seen all of the rooms, murals, and art added in the past few months? It’s hard to keep up, but you didn’t choose the life of interdimensional travel, it chose you. The first chapter in the Meow Wolf story started in 2008 with a collective of creatives brought together by the universe to shake up the traditional art scene of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Explore, connect, and expand your experience with Meow Wolf’s new app, featuring an innovative Psychic Sensor that unveils hidden story elements during your visit. They were definitely up to something forbidden (at least in most timelines), which not only caused their disappearance but opened up secret passageways into other dimensions for you to discover. Music brings people together and transports anyone willing to lean into it. The House’s venue, Fancy Town provides the rad experience of seeing incredibly talented musicians and performances while inside an exhibit that dabbles in different realities. Do you know who performed the first show at House of Eternal Return? Please treat yourself to seeing a show at this venue – it really is a whole vibe. The artists who worked on the House of Eternal Return didn’t have a lot of money or experience with such a massive project.

Moving through the house, finding odd rooms, and exploring the interactive nature of the art is truly incredible. Finally, one of the best kept secrets in the exhibit is a room that isn’t much of a secret at all. It’s our well-beloved Wilderness room, you know, the one that has the fun music produced by doseone aka Adam Drucker that plays once you press all the dogs’ eyes! That may seem like a fun secret enough, but there is a second element to the sequence once the music starts playing. The buttons on the obelisk will light up in a certain order, and if you press those buttons as they light up, something...really cool happens. We don’t want to give it away, but just know we all want to help one another.
An immersive environment that is part haunted house, part choose-your-own-adventure, and part jungle gym.
Be sure to check out Wander for more great things to see and do during your visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico. We also recommend a few of our favorite Santa Fe hotels, including La Fonda on the Plaza, Hotel St. Francis, and Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. My guide told me it’s not uncommon for visitors to spend hours reading one of Selig family’s diaries or flipping through papers on one of their desks. One family of visitors even spent an entire day, from opening until closing, trying to solve the mystery. I recently headed to the House of Eternal Return, a new visual art exhibit in Santa Fe, New Mexico to find out what happened to its occupants, the Selig family.

Although there is no time limit for your visit, there is a strict no re-entry policy. While waiting we saw tons of people sprinting across the parking lot running backpacks back to the car. For more security there are also pay lockers inside to store backpacks. My favorite part was finding all the seemingly boring parts of the house that are actually entries into the multiverse. Stepping through from the real world into the unknown was joyful fun for someone like me normally rooted in the mundane. This is, in our opinion, the most iykyk (if you know you know) rooms in the entire exhibit.
Experiences
Protest organizers said they wanted to bring attention to the high numbers of Palestinian and other Arab journalists killed by Israel's military since the war began in October. Biden's speech before an expected crowd of nearly 3,000 people was being followed by entertainer Colin Jost from "Saturday Night Live." "Shame on you!" protesters draped in the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh cloth shouted, running after men in tuxedos and suits and women in long dresses who were holding clutch purses as guests hurried inside for the dinner. With hundreds of protesters rallying against the war in Gaza outside the event and concerns over the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the perils for journalists covering the conflict, the war hung over this year's event.
It feels like stopping by to say hi to a neighbor who doesn’t mind if you grab a drink from the fridge. Plan on spending at least two hours inside the House of Eternal Return. I visited as a media guest when it was closed for maintenance and upgrades, and even without the crowds, I barely had time to walk through the attraction in an hour, let alone dig into the mystery.
The amazing artists that we have been able to work with are extraordinary, innovative, and brilliant, to say the very least. Their creations continue to grow and evolve, and over the past seven years, there have been over 700 artists and contributors who have had their part in helping create House of Eternal Return. We depend on ad revenue to craft and curate stories about the world’s hidden wonders. Consider supporting our work by becoming a member for as little as $5 a month. They worked with what they had and managed to get financial backing from Game of Thrones creator, George R. R. Martin, to buy the bowling alley that became the very first Meow Wolf location.
Featuring a massive collaboration between Texas and Santa Fe based artists, Meow Wolf Grapevine expands into a new era of art and storytelling. The small mountain town of Santa Fe hides a secret straight out of science fiction. An unassuming building in the city’s industrial district is a nexus of colorful, chaotic portals that take explorers to worlds they’ve only seen in their wildest dreams. Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return is a unique art experience featuring an astonishing new form of non-linear storytelling that unfolds through exploration, discovery and 21st century interactivity. The exhibition follows the story of a family and the loss of a relative "Lex." Each family member has their own story to tell within the walls and papers throughout the house. The house is analysed by an organisation called "The Charter" due to a cataclysmic event surrounding the house involving the multiverse.
Our third permanent art exhibition, Convergence Station, is a 4-story exhibition home to 70+ unique installations, rooms, and portals. Explore the transformative power of creative energy at Meow Wolf’s The Real Unreal, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. When an ordinary family encounters the extraordinary, an inspiring tale of chosen family, community, and the power of imagination unfolds within a mesmerizing, interactive artscape.
Visitors are turned loose to piece together the non-linear narrative on their own, rifling through the clothes, furnishings, books, and personal papers of the family members and stumbling through cosmic portals hidden throughout the house. The group consisted of artists from various backgrounds with different talents, like design, acting, engineering, writing, painting, and sculpting. They made art for people like themselves, who didn’t fit in the fine arts world and didn’t want to experience art in a gallery or museum.
